Office Politics

A Old Normal

We all have been subject to Office Politics in a way or the other; may be impacted negatively by it or subjected to immense growth from it. All though it has been there for a long now and is something which we can’t get ride off for a long time now. It does make sense to venture smoothly and steadily along with it.

Office Politics

I was recently introduced to Niven Postma, A well established author and a professor. I did read one of her published articles in HBR and was immensely impressed on the thought process and was also inspired by the story shared in the article.

The Article:

As I explored more on Niven’s article I came across the book titled “If you don’t do politics, politics will do you”; I spent almost a week only on this phrase what it may mean to me and how relevant this phrase is to everyone. As I explored more I came across one more article from Niven, Here is the link:

The Reasons for Office Politics

We all are humans, we want to grow, we want to scale up, we all want higher financial pay, we all want higher designations, we all want better work, we all want better respect… Our wants are always scaling up up and more up. Who doesn’t want right.

My Personal Experiences with Office  Politics

I first had an impact because of Office Politics in 2010 where I lost an opportunity to grow to the next level, My Lead influenced me to back out from the opportunity as there was something better coming up for me. I didn’t validate the suggestion and backed out. Later Learnt that he was in favour of another individual.

Second Impact was in 2012, I lost an opportunity because I didn’t vouch myself as a candidate for the next level thinking my work would speak. Learnt that I missed out the opportunity for a less skilled and experienced person just because I didn’t show the interest in the position.

Third Impact was in 2014, I lost an opportunity where I was the Best Fit because again I didn’t vouch as I considered the management will take the wise decision. I was moved to a different team and had to quit due to the psychological stress later learnt that the influence continued to prove that I quit because I wanted Onsite (Who doesn’t, But that wasn’t my intent I was fighting with many other things internally then)

Fourth Impact was in 2021, This was unique as the Management wanted me to step up and lead as soon as I joined without announcing it to the team, This was a very short and had to quit because I didn’t have the power to wield the stick nor was the management interested to make things straight along with other unethical practices. This engagement was a lot disrespectful and I feel its good I did move on. There might have been other views and perspectives and also informations that I am not aware of even now.

Influencing the Outcomes

Now when I turn back and connect the dots with Niven’s Second Article, I have a different perspective all together.

In all 4 situations above and also at the current aspect, I do see few things inline with the article which made me loose:

  1. First Hand Information
  2. Connections and Relationships
  3. Ability to Influence
  4. Clear Visibility to the situation

We all are the same individuals especially being born and brought up in India and having an understanding of how things imply to Leaders at the Government and the things we see them doing for the Chair and associating the word politics with it; we tend to have a negative opinion on the word “Politics”.

Same has been with me, all though we explore a set of human chains in growths across companies we see. We tend to consider that they are favours done and what not what is based on the “Deserving” part. While this may be true or not but having the above 4 pointers on your side will make you win for sure. In all the 4 situations and the current one, I see that when you have the first hand information of what’s going to happen puts you in a better place to influence and how do you influence – by having the right connections and relationships and so does the connections and the relationships that gets you the information also the same connections gets influenced by you to make things happen for you.

There is lot more effort to be put in to grow and maintain your connections and relationships at work which would certainly contribute to your growth based on how you use it.

Irrespective of the skills, experiences and the different strong work aspects you bring to the table, you may certainly loose on opportunities if you don’t use your relationships and connections at the right time and in the right way.

Unethical practices are still there and is pretty common in India, however you would certainly know what’s wise in your state or the situation.

Excited to Read the Book from Niven and also its a reminder to set recurring meetings and connect with my folks at work too!

Make Sure its Healthy for Everyone!

Remember, Healthy Politics is the Key for the Entire Team to Grow and No One’s left behind!

Anger, Disappointment, Dissatisfactions, Helplessness and the Jealousy – A Psychological Musing by LKN

When we look deeply at anger, disappointment, helplessness or even jealousy; the problem isn’t someone else!

It’s we ourselves!

The point is all this happens only because of our shortcomings or over expectations!

The limitations and the disappointments or the dissatisfactions arise because of not achieving the desired results or the desired outcomes and these desires be in any form is an expectation from self – Be it the most alluring designation or the salary or an outcome – These feelings arise because we were short to deliver something to ourselves!

Even when we are dependent on others for outcomes and the disappointment or the dissatisfaction arises it’s because we were short of influencing the person to get the desired outcomes!

Be that childhood rejections of love is because we in some way failed to impress in the right way for that specific person!

So basically the cause of our every negative feeling is the self, basically we were short of something at that walk of life!

However when we look at the bigger picture, we are always short of a thing or the other in our lives.

People who are leaders know how to manage the shortcomings or they act otherwise in a better way and that’s were the talks about “Self Awareness” comes in to picture!

The more better we know ourselves, the better our expectations from self will be and that also channels and influences the desired results.

Also another perspective is our desired results keeps changing, as a kid I used to love the cone ice creams that my dad used to buy me as I grew up my desire of ice creams changed to a huge bucket comparably!

We all evolve and there isn’t negative thing about desiring more, unless you know how to manage the disappointment, dissatisfactions, anger and jealousy. The moment you can’t manage these they multiply so much so that every aspect of life starts getting impacted!

The self awareness is the key to success isn’t overrated, it helps you manage yourself in a better way so that you either know how to reach the desired outcomes or you know how to limit yourself with grace! Mastering self awareness is difficult and it takes a lot of time!

Self Awareness! The Partial Key!

The key is to be brutally true to the inner self!

Now, The questions I ask the self is:

Brutally True to the Inner Self? Is this possible?
Limiting ourself with Grace? Is this possible?
Reach all desired outcomes? Is this possible?

And the Answers that come to my mind are:

It’s 100% possible and attainable only by Gods!
We as humans somewhere sometime loose the calmness of mind and yes this happens frequently as well! 😀

That’s were these feelings and actions are closely related to being human!

Shortcomings – An inseparable trait of any Human!

The only thing practically attainable and that we need to master is walking with grace with all these uncertain logical and psychological complications! That’s an impossible task to attain as well!

Intellectual Property of the Term “Industry 5.0”

It was brought to my notice on 5th December 2021 that one of the individuals has used the term “Industry 5.0” in one of his blogs and considers himself to be the person who coined the term “Industry 5.0” along with a view of my use of the same term in unjustified as it infringes the intellectual property rights.

Out of words and thoughts may be is the apt description of my state at the moment.

Just because someone used the term which was supposed to be obvious in one of the blogs doesn’t make it restrictive to use it.

I have someone claiming they used “Industry 5.0” as a term in their blogs and if I don’t join hands with them – I don’t have the right to use it because it’s their intellectual property.

Well “Industry 5.0” was predefined back in 18th Century with the naming convention that was accepted.

People have false claims for everything, I would appreciate if they had broader picture on the subject in question too.

Anyways I have decided to use my own term for the “Industry 5.0” or “5IR” or “Fifth Industrial Revolution” or “Industrial Revolution V” or “IR V” not that I accept their statement but more off considering the value I have for my time and rejecting these petty issues that are arising.

I will let you know the term I will be utilising for these concepts by Monday 13th December 2021 and this will certainly not be a normal verbiage, will abide the legal values which would make it my own IP abiding at least the basic rules of the IP enforcement.

Thanks for all the support I am getting. This initiative I am doing is not driven by money and more of giving back to the society for what it has given me. Please spare me from things which actually isn’t a matter of concern.

Industry 5.0 – The Gods in the Making!

The Path to Immortality!

Industry 5.0 – The Gods in the Making!

Experts believe that we are at the midst of the fourth industrial revolution and must be ready to adapt the fifth industrial revolution in the blink of an eye.

So, the first question is, “What is The Fifth Industrial Revolution/ Industry 5.0?”

Industry 5.0 is a new model of production based on the idea of interaction between machines and humans in any working environment.

The key role here is played by IT.

First world has seen IT bringing the industry from third to the fourth industrial revolution by the applications of IoT and smart softwares and now it must take the industry towards the fifth industrial revolution by making the interaction between the accurate and efficient machinery and the intellectual humans possible.

The idea is to hire robots or machines to do the difficult, risky and the mundane tasks while the human can indulge in further innovation, building new business processes, concentrating on outer space research, controlling the robots and making the impossible happen with the advent of new generation of robots.

There is a common misconception among different groups of people that the industry is heading towards the Human-free environment where humans would be replaced by the robots and machines.

But the objective behind these advancements is to create a collaboration between humans and the robots for smart production using IT techniques while less resources and time are being consumed.

This Human-Robo pairing opens the doors to a huge world of opportunities for manufacturers as well as the end consumer by maximizing the benefits of Information Technology.

What is predicted about the future of Industry 5.0?

Experts have predicted about what this Industry 5.0 is going to bring in the field and what is just supposed? Let’s have a look at the important predictions that you may see in near future.

What will the industry 5.0 bring for individuals?

That’s an interesting prediction about the industry 5.0. Just suppose – for the sake of argument – you are suffering from some disease like diabetes or high blood pressure.

What if you can have a set of little IT devices attached with you that can collaborate with one another and whenever you feel that the blood pressure is rising, one of the devices detects it and communicate with the other device and then the second device injects you with a BP lowering medicine?

It seems a bit complex but this is what predicted about the industry 5.0 model applied to individuals. This is the one example; you can count as many similar examples as possible the working model is same in all cases i.e. The Human-Robo co-operation.

Also not to say this does open up a pandora box of research and realistic possibilities of the future inclusive of healthy, efficient, untiring humans who are immortal as well.

How industry 5.0 will convert the workers to Gods?

It is true that the most of the work will be done using robots and machines under the shadow of industry 5.0 model.

But wait! Who will design, create and operate these robots? With no doubt, The Humans. So, you can say, “Industry 5.0 will make humans the Gods who design, create and control the robots and the machines will be their modern day peasants”

Where are we now?

We are still in midst of the industry 4.0 model and continuously heading towards the industry 5.0. The concepts like Elon Musk’s Neuralink makes it evident that the man kind is heading towards a revolutionary future of industry 5.0. This revolution will change the human status to God while changing the status of robots to the next generation humans.

Just like said that the God designs, creates and controls the humans and other creations, the humans will become the designers, creators and controllers of the robotic generation. The Neuralink concept can play a key role here.

In experiments conducted on a pig named Gertrude and a monkey named Pager by Elon Musk’s Neuralink company, they found that the Neuralink can tell about the actions that the object was going to do next and also control the activity to some extent in the real-time analysis. This is a great milestone towards the industry 5.0.

If applied on the larger scale, the Neuralink can be used to see and control the functioning of robots or workers in real-time under the industry 5.0 model. Hence making the humans The Gods of next Robotic Generation.

Mankind is entering a new phase of industrial revolution where humans will be involved in design and creation process and the robots will be obeying humans to manufacture certain products or services. This industrial revolution is commonly known as the industry 5.0.

LKN’s Musing’s:

May be Gods were Previous Versions of Homo Sapiens and the Robots will be the Next Generation of Homo Sapiens. The Extinction of Gods made us wander the earth eating bone marrows until we learnt to grab ourselves back on track! And all other species were as usual trial, errors and research specimens!

Utilisation of Knowledge!

Influences on Our Thinking Process!

Utilisation of Knowledge

This is my third article on Knowledge, I have been introspecting and pondering on various aspects on Knowledge. I see that this is a very vast topic and has various facets and influences on our life. I see that this is a critical factor that makes us respond and react to numerous events that occur in our lives. Sometimes we tend to have patience, introspect and respond; also for some events we tend to react. Mostly the Introspection and Response is connected with our Experience of the same situations while the Reactions are connected with Emotions and Lack of Experience of the similar situations

Back to topic, If every one has knowledge and also has similar influencing factors as discussed in the other article “Measurement of Knowledge” however there is still a lot of differences on the way people tend to respond and react right? Ever wondered what factors influence there approaches? Ever tried to ponder over these Responses and Reactions and tried to analyse them?

I spent an entire Saturday on this activity. The thought process invoked several categorisations and logical connections finally landing on the below factors that has influence on our ability to use the knowledge what we know:

  1. People – All of those with whom you are associated with from your toddler days to whatever age you are now. Every Single person has contributed to your thought process irrespective of the person being good or bad; The experiences with them has influenced your thought process to a greater extent.
  2. Places – All the places you are associated with, each one of the places has its own cultural aspects, behavioural aspects, attributes of the people varies, the routine of the people varies. There is total new aspect you experience when you relocate. An apt example and a drastic change would be to relocate to Poland, There is nothing wrong about it, The people are awesome however they tend to be very straight forward, though there intent is really good and a normal environment for people who have settled down there – Its a complete new experience for a person who has just landed there and yes if they haven’t researched on this aspects; You can image their plight. Jokes apart, I am a Libran so I see both Pro’s and Con’s in every situation similar this has both pro’s and con’s too. They are wonderful people though and very honest and peaceful also they mean what they say and nothing hidden or in codes!
  3. Family – We spend a lot of candid times with the family which has major influence on our though process. From as simple as how a family member shares the snacks to as big as how the family members handle the finances. All and every tiny minute thing has an impact on our thought process.
  4. What we consume – With the invention of internet we are not limited by only the above, The Social Networks and the other online forums where we spend our time with doing one or the other activity has a lot to contribute to our thought process and mindset. Starting from a Book to a conversation or an article or even a podcast or may be a online meet – Everything that we consume has an impact on our thought process and mindset.

People, Places, Family and the consumption of information from various sources has a major influence on our thought process and mindset. The exposure to various cultural aspects also has a major influence. Even though I haven’t visited many places, I have had consumption of different cultural experiences within the professional environment meeting people from various places, various age groups, different organisations that I worked for has always had a influence on my thought process and mindset – Few are positive, Few are negative; Yes. However they do have an impact for sure.

I am not trying to be racist here but based on the introspection its logically right that a set of people who are limited to or have the common experiences, react and respond in same or similar manner. Mostly this is related to the set of people they are exposed to or may be the places they are exposed to or even their families and now with the onset of Internet what we consume also has an influence. Though we can have a tab on what we consume, We have very less ability or are bound by few limitations on the type of people and places that would be part of our lives. They do teach one or the other aspects some are good some are bad.

Also a key aspect to look is as you get exposure to different places and different group of people you would pick up an hint or two on whom to avoid and whom to entertain exceptions are the family members alone some times even they as time passes.

These factors influence our thought process and mindset which streamlines all the other knowledge we have gained or aware off to make our own perspectives. Also note that the more number of people your interact with, the more places you visit, the more online meets you attend, the more interactions with the family members always widens your perspectives, which in turn allows you to comprehend the situations better and be aware of any anomalies that occur helping you to react and respond better. The more quantity and qualitative aspects we involve ourselves with the more qualitative the perspectives will be. The more limited we expose ourselves to these resources the less perspectives we will have resulting in poor visibility of the situation.

I grew up in Bangalore and always fantasised the village life. I remember questioning my grand father on his relocation from a village long back, but I believe as the years passed and with the exposure I got. The reasons whatever he gave stands to be proven right in all aspects till now! With that I end this note for the Saturday.

Industry 4.0, the Digitisation of Industries with IT

Industry 4.0, the Digitization of Industries with IT

The industries have been through numerous revolutionary phases and transformations since beginning.

From hammering the wood to make a cart out of it to the huge automatic automobiles industries, the industry has evolved through numerous phases- thanks to IT.

Industry 4.0 refers to further development of growth and production using IT techniques and technologies. IT plays the key role in this fourth industrial revolution.

This is the fourth industrial revolution that is transforming the industry from traditional mode to the ‘High Tech’ smart digital mode aided by smart softwares, data or IOT (Internet of Things).

Want to learn more about Industry 4.0 and the role IT plays in this revolutionary phase? Here is what we’ve for you in this article:

  • How it started?
  • What is achieved so far?
  • What more has to be done yet?

 How and Why It Started?

The industry has evolved through many phases from physical and mechanical to digital and high-tech since the 1800s.

To make these transformations understandable, experts have categorized these revolutions into First, Second, Third and Fourth industrial revolutions.

The industrial revolutions were based on the idea of efficient production. Which meant to reduce manual labor and working hours while maintaining the production capacity the same.

With passage of time, technological advancements helped in achieving this target and the industry evolved from the First Industrial Revolution to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The age from 1700 to 1800s is considered as the age of the First Industrial Revolution.

During this time industries evolved from relying on human labor aided by animals to operate certain machines of that time to a more efficient and optimized labor aided by water and steam operating systems to perform heavy tasks.

IT concepts and technologies were not introduced to industries during this age. The industries relied on mechanical and physical systems for production and value addition purposes.

The second industrial revolution started in early 20th century when electricity was introduced in industries. It was the time when the concept of mass production in an assembly line took birth with the introduction of IT in the field.

Small electronic systems were introduced. Although these systems were not smart or high tech, yet they helped in increasing the efficiency of the work and service.

Third industrial revolution in late 20th century introduced more electronic and digital systems to the industry. It was the time when the smart use of computers transformed analog industry into a digital industry enhancing its efficiency.

Then came the Fourth Industrial Revolution or the Industry 4.0.

It started a few decades ago when the manual systems were transformed with the high tech, automatic and IT based systems. This all started when IT techniques made the communication among computer systems possible.

Today we see fully automated huge industries like Apple where almost the whole manufacturing process is done by smart, high-tech robotic systems aided by IOT, Big data and artificial intelligence.

The IT technologies have provided Industries a more interlinked, efficient and holistic approach. It ties physical mechanism and digital mechanism together with the string of data and internet and offers a better hold and a boost in productivity and growth.

This is just beginning of this revolution; a lot has to take place yet.

What is achieved so far?

Industry 4.0 has benefited small and large scale business with IT techniques up to so much extent that it is difficult to cover each and every benefit of it in a single article.

However, we will discuss some most important achievements of this physico-digital concept.

Value Chain (Supply Chain Management)

Industry 4.0 has made it lenient for industries to keep an eye on their supply chain by providing them data visibility across the entire supply chain. Industries are using this system to deliver their product’s supply faster, cheaper and with better quality to the market.

Analytical solutions

Industry 4.0 systems allow the industries to see the virtual future of their business. It means, the companies can detect the potential crisis or problems they are going to face in future before the crisis actually take place using the industry 4.0 systems. These systems sense the problems in machinery and tell what should be fixed to avoid bigger crisis in the future. In simple words, the Industry 4.0 has transformed the preventive approach of businesses to the predictive approach.

Smart Factories

In Smart Factory, all the machines, logistic chains and engineering works communicate with each other in the production process to ensure the double efficiency using the available resources.

This is done by the use of IT (big data, cloud computing, cyber physical systems and IoT) which lays the base for value chains and offers standard and secure connection among the systems involved in the production process.

The industries are converting their manufacturing lines to smart factories to ensure the best production efficiency – Thanks to the Fourth Industrial Revolution

What more has to be done yet?

No doubt, the industry 4.0 has transformed the way of production and growth for companies up to a huge extent.

But still, there is a lot to be done yet on the larger canvas. Let’s have a look on the future perspective of the Industry 4.0 and how it can change the present laws of production and growth.

Changing SMEs into Industry 4.0

Irrespective of industrial revolution, there are still the small and medium enterprises that are facing deficiencies in financial resources, organizational culture and technology. This lack of industrial revolution is keeping these SMEs out of the competition while the large enterprises are boosting their production using 4.0 maturity model or Industry 4.0 concepts.

These SMEs need to migrate from traditional working model to the industry 4.0 models to ensure larger production to benefit the local and international market. But the systems are often expensive to an extent that the SMEs cannot afford it. This puts a responsibility on governments as well as the system developers to produce such systems that SMEs can afford and make their companies smart and tech based.

Transforming Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0

The world is now focusing on transforming the industry 4.0 to industry 5.0 with the aim of combining humans and machines in a way that the two complement each other in the working environment without replacing the one with the other.

The model is based on the idea that the machines (cobots or robots) are allocated the tasks that involve danger or risks and the humans are used as intellectuals in the process to create and control the programs that run those robots and machines. This will create an environment with the fusion of human intelligence and the artificial intelligence.

This approach will enhance the production and benefit the end consumer as well as the manufacturer. This will also allow people to develop new skills in the process of growth and production.

To achieve this, the most important change needed is the change in “Organizational Culture”. The traditional forms, skills, tools, softwares and hardwares must be fused with robots, cobots and high tech systems.

One more thing to achieve industry 5.0 is to control the production. Due to industry 4.0, the production has increased to a huge level that if the SMEs also migrate to 4.0 model of industry, the production will be more than the market’s requirement. Industry 5.0 relies on IT to calculate the actual market’s requirement and then produce the products to an extent that is needed. This will save both the resources and the time in the process of production and supply.

Industry 4.0 is a concept powered by IT applications to enhance the production and growth of companies at the same time reducing the manual labor, cost of production, risks and working hours. IT is the main aspect of this model by providing big data, cloud computing and IoT applications to the industry.

Certifications – Do we need it or Not!

It has become a tedious job for everyone to keep up with the trends, the new skills, new technologies and so much more happening in the Industry.

So is there a necessity to complete a certification?

I agree that only certification is of no use.

Only certification will make you feel the worst embarrassments of life, You will not be able to answer any of the interview questions and by chance even if you crossed that you would not be able to thrive at work.

I also agree that certification with theoretical knowledge is also of no use.

You may undergo a training gain theoretical knowledge and may pass the exam as well. This does certify that you have the knowledge but you don’t know how and where to apply, again you will not thrive here unless you are a fresh graduate and are starting your career. This options gives you the theoretical knowledge enables you to understand on job terminologies and relate to the actual work you are doing. This was my way when I stepped in to the ITSM platform; I only had IT Helpdesk experience and for me to be considered for anything in ITIL I was expected to have the Foundation certification as the least requirement. So this does help and is very conditional and specific to fresh graduates alone.

Certification is only useful when you have hands on experience coupled with theoretical knowledge.

Now for experienced folks, hands on experience is already gained and the theoretical know how’s helps them align their mindset to the holistic view of where and what fits in along with the best way to perform that set activities. Now I may be thriving with the

Hands on experience and theoretical knowledge however we will be missing out on the visibility to the management. Especially when a new project or an activity is initiated the management will not know all of your skill sets unless you are vocal about it. The best way I found it to be vocal is getting my hands on and theory attested by the third entity.

So now I always have an upper hand on the opportunities and also it is easier for me to perform the task, get noticed and keep aiming for higher.

This has been my secret so far, I did start without hands on on the initial days but did have theoretical knowledge and got it attested by the third entity; however as I grew I had to be visible and also prove my ability from time to time. So I don’t have an overseas exposure but I assume logically if you have to be noticed, you need to get attested but that’s only when you have hands on and theory both in place!

Happy Learning!

Measurement of Knowledge

How much is Suffice?

Measurement of Knowledge

So, Now it gets complicated.. what’s that which changes from one person to another, How is it we have multiple understandings and perceptions when everyone has these abilities? And how can we measure the degree of knowledge?

What differentiates the knowledge from one person to another person is the ability to Experience, envision or visualise and apply the knowledge for a particular activity.

I can give a good example, I have been thought to make coffee, I have all information available on what, how and when the ingredients are supposed to be used and I comprehend this as well. However when I make the Coffee – The Taste differs to a greater extent from what my mom prepares. Normal scenario with everyone and can be applied for different examples. May be I will learn with time and get the same taste as my mom does or it may never be possible.

Now applying has various factors, There is a saying “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result will not lead us anywhere” So its the drive to try different options. The ability to try again and again in different ways until we know what works also gains us knowledge.

Most important factor is the Visualisation, The more capable of visualising the different permutations and combinations accurately the more easier it is to find the right approach to solve a problem.

Finally the experience adds as a cherry on the cake that since we have applied many times and also visualised many possibilities; we can consider ourself knowledgeable in one particular area which we have visualised and applied.

These 3 Factors are again coupled with the Exposure, Passion and Adaptability towards the activity being performed.

If I have been exposed to making coffee from a very long time and if I have the taste for a Good Coffee – Outcome would be something which is really nice – May not be equivalent to what my mom makes though and yes it will never be as well.

This is one of the reason why people say follow your passion. When you follow your passion, you love it because there is no stress involved mostly because you know about the activity better and the topic is of your interest so you spend more time learning and playing with it rather than considering it as a burden. Thats the secret of many achievers we have.

However does that mean the individual will always be doing the same activity for his whole life, No! Everyone grows and moves to a different activity. So it may or may not be of interest as well. But still we thrive because we tend to adapt to situations.

We as humans are very adaptable to situations, Just like Chameleons; we tend to change our colours based on our gain. Not being rude here, It’s the fact. We all as humans use everything for our advantage and yes we are adaptable. We did survive on eating bone marrows as well and we are thriving poaching wild animals as well. Our behaviour is dependent on what is being expected from a particular situation. Isn’t it. So the more adaptable we are the more we attempt to different scenarios and get success

So the Winning ingredients that make you stand out are:

  1. Applying
  2. Visualising
  3. Experience
  4. Exposure
  5. Passion and
  6. Adaptability

The more we sharpen these skills the more successful we will be and yes the measure of knowledge is dependent on how well you can perform an activity so its again limited to that activity. I mean to say a person can be knowledgeable in few domains or areas of work and life and not in all and everything.

Remember it’s an Ocean of Knowledge out there, Everyone, Anyone or Any Activity will add a little more to the Knowledge what we have.

We will never have suffice knowledge, we will always have something which is unknown and to be explored!

We also have a DIKW Pyramid, I would keep that for another discussion some time in future.

Am I Really Knowledgable?

Am I really knowledgeable? Ever asked this question for yourself? Ever wondered if your knowledge was below average or average or above average or you were acing every where and the master of all skills? Loads of Introspection right? Ever wondered what’s the definition of Knowledge?

Let’s start with the actual definition of Knowledge, What is the definition as per you – Is it a particular skill or the social awareness or the confidence or etiquette? Do you have your own definition of Knowledge or Do you have an assumption of what knowledge can be or Is it that you are influenced by your surroundings on the definition of Knowledge.

Let me help you with the definition of Knowledge:

Knowledge can be broadly classified in to 3:

  1. Sum of what is known to you
  2. Information that is accessible
  3. Philosophy which includes justified beliefs and understanding – Don’t confuse this with Opinions

Now, Let’s get back to the Question; How would you answer your own question of Am I Knowledgable? What factors do you see?

  1. You know many things which is thought to you
  2. You have maximum information available to you via the Internet
  3. You are able to comprehend, align and convert 1 and 2 to a justified belief, understanding and also convert this in to a philosophy over time

Am I Knowledgeable?

The Question keeps popping up especially with introverts like me who shy away from people. Yes I am an introvert, Good and Active when I am virtual. You wouldn’t hear, feel or sense me near you if I am physically seated beside you. It’s like a creep siting right next to you without uttering a word and giving a grin when you see me.
